Biotec offers a range of latex tests for the quick and reliable measurement of hCG, streptococcus, staphylococcus, ASO, CRP, RA and the heterophile antibody in serum samples.
- Results within minutes
- Easy to read agglutination
- Accurate and reliable
Rapid latex Agglutination test for the confirmatory identification of Streptococci of Lancefield groups.
A, B, C, D, F and G from culture plates. The enzyme reagent used in the Biotec Strep kit is unique for extraction of all groups. Results are available one minute after extraction. The agglutination is easy to read. There is minimal cross-reaction between groups and particularly high sensitivity to group D.
The Biotec Staph latex agglutination kit is a rapid test for the confirmatory identification of presumptive Staphylococcus Aureus colonies from primary plate culture. The test offers results in under two minutes, a high sensitivity and specificity giving accurate and reliable results.
Streptolysin O is a toxic extra-cellular protein associated with β-haemolytic Streptococci of groups A, C and G. It has strong antigenic properties and infection with any of above groups can lead to a generation of antibodies. Measurement of ASO in serum will assist in the diagnosis of streptococcal infections and the extent and degree of infection.
Rheumatoid factors found in sera of patients with rheumatoid arthritis as well as other diseases. The group of antibodies are mostly of IgM class. The auto-antibodies are directed against Fc fragment of patient’s IgG immunoglobulin. Particularly associated with rheumatoid fever, acute glomerulonephritis, and streptococcal infections
CRP is an acute phase protein present in normal serum and notable for the speed of its response to trauma. Levels increase in response to various inflammatory conditions, but drop to normal as the condition subsides.
The Biotec IM kit is a rapid latex agglutination test kit for the detection of the heterophile antibody associated with Infectious Mononucleosis in human serum. The kit is easy-to-use as the serum does not require any dilution steps and gives a rapid and clear agglutination in 2 minutes. Positive and negative controls are included and the latex is referenced against recognised standards to ensure the correct sensitivity and specificity.
